Let's Get It Started

I've been mulling about the idea of starting a blog for some time now, but I just hadn't brought myself to do it. I wasn't sure about the time commitment, doubted my ability, and had the lingering question of "Where to start?" Then last night, we were out to dinner with friends, and we were discussing cooking for the freezer--which is something I do all the time. As we were chatting, one friend suggested that I start a blog about it. That was just the little nudge I needed to take the plunge. Thanks, Lauren. Then this evening, I came downstairs to find my hubby starting one for me. So, here I am.

I do plan to post my ideas for cooking (for the freezer and otherwise). However, I also plan to post about other aspects of life, such as: the match, keeping a household clothed and fed on a budget, tips for working mamas, and whatever other random things I feel may apply. (Confession: I'm not a resident's wife. Yet. However, on March 18th we'll find out where we're headed to start residency this summer. So I will be. But for now I'm the creatively frugal wife of a 4th year medical student.)

I suppose I should introduce myself. I'm a 26 year-old (as of today) gal who is passionate about her Lord & Savior, her hubby, and her 14 month old son, Eli.

Basically, that's the start of my priority list--in that order. That's the tip of the "me" iceberg. I have family I adore (beyond the immediate family listed),a great job as a Facs teacher in a district I like to refer to as "teacher heaven," and a burning desire to be a stay at home mama. My greatest dream is to be able to stay at home and take care of my boys full time. Though I have the teachers' dream job, my heart is in my home. There's a very, very brief summary of me.

I think I'll end each post with my lingering thought of the day. Today, however, I have two. #1: There is nothing in this world like the german chocolate cake my mom & MawMaw make for birthdays. Yum! #2: I will be forever thankful to Kraft Mac & Cheese for creating something a teething baby will always eat.
